# Client research first

When the user wants landing page copy, a pitch deck, or branded layout about a **real** company, product, or person:

## Step 1 — Confirm research mode

Ask once:

- **Research + build** — search the web, then draft with citations in mind.
- **Questions only** — interview the user; no web search.
- **Template only** — generic placeholder copy (user accepts inaccuracy).

Do not pick "template only" unless the user clearly wants placeholders.

## Step 2 — Gather facts

- Prefer primary sources: official site, press kit, App Store / product page, LinkedIn (public facts only).
- Note **unknowns** explicitly — never invent funding rounds, team size, or product specs.

## Step 3 — Draft

- Structure: headline → proof → offer → CTA (for landing pages) or problem → solution → traction → ask (for decks).
- Flag any line that still needs client verification with `[verify]`.

## Step 4 — Handoff to Canvas (if applicable)

If the user wants visual layout on Canvas, summarize approved copy in a bullet block they can paste, or proceed with `delegate_to_design_agent` using only verified facts.
