# Storyboard checklist (Canvas)

Use this when the user asks for a storyboard, shot list, animatic plan, or "plan the scenes first".

## Before generating

1. Confirm **subject**, **format** (aspect ratio), and **number of shots** (or ask).
2. `read_canvas_state` — note existing sections/frames so new shots don't overlap.
3. Write a numbered shot list in chat (one line per shot: framing + action + mood).
4. Ask for approval if the plan has more than 6 shots or the brief is ambiguous.

## While building

5. Create or reuse a **section** for the storyboard row.
6. Generate **one hero frame per shot** before variants — don't fan out 4× on shot 1 until the row reads as a sequence.
7. Keep shot order left-to-right (or top-to-bottom) matching the numbered list.
8. Name sections/frames with `#1`, `#2`, … so Present mode order stays obvious.

## After first pass

9. Offer one focused revision pass (lighting, wardrobe, continuity) — not a full redo unless asked.
