We're moving from Flux1 to Flux2
We're deprecating our legacy models and replace them with Black Forest Labs' latest technology.
A New Chapter for LetzAI
During the early days of LetzAI, our team has invested a lot of time into optimizing and fine-tuning open source AI models. While these models were great during their release time, they have been surpassed by newer models in almost any meaningful way for a while now.
In order to make our platform more adjusted to the future, we will be replacing our older models with the newer "Flux2" model family by Black Forest Labs.
We are also shutting down our legacy model training infrastructure and have already replaced it with a new, much faster system that is purely based on image-to-image techniques.
This switch allows us to scale our platform further and to meet the growing demand for image and video generation, as well as to ensure that we can keep providing results that our growing user base expects.
We are very excited about this change and we believe that this update sets the stage for the future of LetzAI.
Why Flux2?
Black Forest Labs has been at the forefront of open image generation research. Flux2 represents a leap forward in quality, coherence, and creative potential compared to Flux1. Flux2 offers a better experience for creators seeking high-quality outputs than our previous self-hosted Flux1 models.
Furthermore, we are confident that Black Forest Labs will keep innovating and provide high quality models in the future, which we plan to support as well.
While our Flux1 infrastructure relied on expensive and resource-intensive fine-tuning of AI Models, newer models like Flux2, Nano Banana Pro or Seedream are a much more efficient and cost-effective solutions as they rely on Image-to-Image processes. That's why, for the time being, we do not see a future in running our own training infrastructure.
You do not need to worry about the LetzAI models you've created however, as these will stay available on the platform and can be used with all the new models too. They can be used as new "Instant Models", while "Trained models" will be phased out soon.
As we move away from "Trained models", all newly created user models that are added to LetzAI will be instantly available and will no longer require an extensive training process.
Key improvements in Flux2 vs. Flux1:
- Enhanced image quality: More detailed, coherent, and accurate results
- Better prompt understanding: More accurate interpretation of complex prompts
- Improved consistency: More reliable outputs across different styles and subjects
- Advanced capabilities: Better handling of text, hands, and complex compositions
Flux2 Pricing
From the Flux2 family, we will support the Flux2 Max model.
- Flux2 [max] images will cost 60 credits per image (1K) and 120 credits (HD)
What about Flux2 Pro and Flux2 Dev?
After our internal benchmarking, we have decided that Flux2 Max is the only new Flux model that brings significant value to our users and is compatible with our model tagging system. We do not plan to support Pro and Dev and don't want to confuse users by giving them less accurate models.
Deprecating old LetzAI V3 (Flux1) Models
As part of this transition, we will be deprecating our legacy Flux1 models ("V3 models") soon. This includes all five modes that have been part of LetzAI V3:
- Cinematic
- Creative
- Sigma
- Turbo
- Default
- Deprecation period: Flux1 models will remain available for a limited time to give users time to adjust and transition.
- End of support:We plan to withdraw support on February 10th, 2026.
We recommend all users to transition to our newer models like the new Flux models, Nano Banana Pro, or Seedream 4.5.
Looking Forward
Our collaboration with Black Forest Labs doesn't end with Flux2. We're committed to supporting future BFL models as they become available, ensuring LetzAI users always have access to cutting-edge image generation technology.
This transition reflects our core philosophy: we'd rather offer fewer, higher-quality options than maintain legacy systems that no longer represent the best the industry has to offer. We believe in quality over quantity.
What About Existing Content?
Don't worry — all images and videos you've created with Flux1 and older LetzAI models will remain in your gallery and are not affected by this change. This deprecation only affects new generations going forward.
As for your trained Flux1 models, we will soon allow users to export and download their model files. This will allow you to continue using your trained models with other tools, like for example ComfyUI.
Get Started with Flux2
Flux2 Max is available now to all LetzAI users. To try it:
- Go to the Generation tab on letz.ai
- Click on the Base Model dropdown
- Select Flux2 [max]
- Enter your prompt and generate!
Flux2 [max] is also available as Image Editing model.
