Our benchmarks are showing that Phota is one of the best image generation and editing models available, outperforming Nano Banana Pro on some tasks.
Starting today, this new image generation and editing model Phota is available as a new base model on LetzAI.
Phota is purpose-built for one thing that most image models still struggle with: keeping people looking like themselves across different images. But it can do much more.
Whether you're placing someone in a new setting, swapping a background, or generating a fresh composition from a text prompt, Phota is designed to preserve the identity and likeness of your subjects throughout.
What Makes Phota Different
Compared to Nano Banana Pro, Phota can deliver more crisp results and in some cases performs generally more aesthetically.
Of all the models we've tested since the release of Nano Banana Pro, Phota is the one that performed the best on our benchmarks. It also has a lot of world knowledge, knows different characters, objects and art styles, and is generally very accurate in its responses.
Key strengths of Phota:
- Identity-aware generation: Reference your LetzAI models with @handles and Phota will maintain their likeness across completely different scenes and compositions.
- Powerful editing with preservation: Edit existing images — change backgrounds, fix distractions, restyle a scene — while the people in the image stay recognizable.
- Multi-image input: Supply up to 9 reference images when editing, giving Phota more context to work with for better, more accurate results.
- Up to 4K resolution: Generate and edit at 1K for faster iterations or 4K for print-ready, high-detail output.
- Flexible aspect ratios: Supports auto, 1:1, 16:9, 4:3, 3:4, and 9:16 — ready for social media, print, and everything in between.
Generation and Editing in One Model
Phota is available both as an image generation model and as an image editing model on LetzAI.
For generation: Write a prompt, tag your @models, and Phota will generate images that faithfully represent the referenced subjects.
For editing or using reference images: Upload one or more images and describe the changes you want. Phota will transform the scene while preserving the identity of the people in it. This is especially useful for tasks like background replacement, scene restyling, and removing distractions — all without losing the likeness of your subjects.
When to Use Phota
Phota is a strong choice when your workflow involves people and you need them to look consistent. Here are a few scenarios where it excels:

Phota is available on all LetzAI paid plans. Pricing is straightforward and priced at:
- 1K resolution: 80 credits per image
- 4K resolution: 240 credits per image
This puts Phota in line with our other premium model, Nano Banana Pro.
How to Try Phota
Phota is available right now. To try it:
- Go to the Generate tab on letz.ai
- Open the Base Model selector
- Choose Phota
- Write your prompt — tag your @models if you want identity-aware generation
- Generate!
For editing, head to the Edit tab, upload your image(s), select Phota as the model, and describe the changes you want.
Phota is also fully supported in LetzAI Chat and through our API, so you can integrate it into your existing workflows and automations.
