Image Editing

Natural language edits, Guided Creation, extending the canvas, and more — the same guidance as our image editing guide.

LetzAI's editing tools give you powerful control over your images. Whether you want to change small details or completely transform a scene, this guide covers everything you need to know.

Editing with natural language

The Edit tab is where you'll find all of LetzAI's image modification tools. You can edit any image — whether generated by AI or uploaded from your device. Instead of manually selecting areas or using technical tools, you simply describe what you want to change.

You can use editing to:

  • Change small details (colors, text, objects)
  • Replace or remove elements
  • Adjust lighting, mood, or time of day
  • Transform the overall style of an image
  • Add completely new elements to the scene

In many cases, a clear sentence is enough for the AI to understand the requested change. Upload or select the image you want to edit, describe the change in plain language, then generate the result and iterate if needed.

Tips for better edits: Be specific — clear instructions lead to more predictable results. Change one thing at a time for more control. Generate multiple versions and iterate to reach the best result.

Guided Creation

Sometimes a written prompt alone is not enough — especially when changes need to happen in a specific area of the image. Guided Creation adds a visual layer on top of your prompt: you can draw, add shapes, arrows, or write notes directly on the image to show the AI exactly what should be changed and where.

This is especially helpful when editing text or logos, changing specific objects, replacing backgrounds, or making targeted adjustments without affecting the rest of the image.

How it works: Open your image in the Edit tab, activate Guided Creation, draw or write directly on the image to highlight the change, then describe the edit in your prompt and generate the result. By combining visual guidance with natural language instructions, edits become more precise and predictable.

Canvas, backgrounds, and style

Beyond editing details, you can transform the overall composition and look of your images.

Extending the canvas. You can expand an image beyond its original borders. Use a prompt like "Zoom out and extend the scene to the left" or "Widen the frame and show more landscape on both sides." You can also select a new aspect ratio (e.g., square to 16:9) and prompt the AI to adapt — it will place the original image into the new canvas and generate additional content to fill the space.

Background removal and replacement. Remove or replace backgrounds with simple instructions: "Remove the background and place the subject in a modern office", "Replace the background with a tropical beach", or "Change the background to a clean studio backdrop." For more precise results, combine this with Guided Creation to highlight the subject or area.

Style transfer. Transform the visual style of an image while keeping its content: "Make this look like a cinematic movie still", "Turn this into a watercolor painting", or "Convert the image into a vintage film photograph." Style changes can be subtle or dramatic depending on your prompt.

Workflows and common scenarios

Image editing is often a step-by-step creative process. Instead of trying to achieve the perfect result in one prompt, it's normal to refine across multiple edits — for example: replace the background, then adjust the lighting, then add subtle detail, then increase contrast.

You can also combine multiple features into a workflow: edit and refine details, extend the scene or adapt it to a new format, generate variations, upscale the final result, and even animate it into a video.

Changing clothing: Use Guided Creation to highlight the clothing area or describe the change in natural language, then specify the new clothing in detail (color, style, material) and generate.

Adding or removing objects: To add, select or describe the area and explain what should appear. To remove, select the object and describe what should replace it (or just say "background").

High-resolution refinement: Open an image in the Edit tab, set a higher output resolution, and use prompts like "Resharpen and upscale this image while maintaining the original likeness" or "Enhance texture and sharpness, keep everything else the same."

Using reference images: When available, upload reference images to guide the AI's edits. This helps achieve specific styles, poses, or compositions.

Using Chat for editing

You can also edit images directly inside LetzAI Chat using conversational instructions. Instead of switching tools, describe what you want to change and refine through back-and-forth messages: "Make the colors warmer", "Change the background to a snowy landscape", "Remove the object on the table."

Chat is especially useful for quick adjustments and experimentation. For more precise or complex edits — especially when specific areas must be targeted — the Edit tab with Guided Creation provides more control.

Tips and credit costs

  • Work at high resolution: Edit high-quality images for best results
  • Match lighting and shadows: Your prompts should consider the existing light direction
  • Be patient: Complex edits may require multiple iterations

For portrait skin refinement, see the Skin Fix guide.

Editing uses credits based on the editing model and output resolution. Costs are shown before you generate. Check your balance in the top navigation bar.
