Bring Your Own Keys lets you pay a model provider directly instead of spending LetzAI credits on the model. You paste an API key from a provider you already have an account with, and every model that provider serves on LetzAI runs on that key. The tools do not change: Studio, Chat and Canvas keep working exactly as before. LetzAI keeps 1 credit per job for storing the result.
Who can use it
- Personal accounts — included with Pro and Ultra under Settings → Bring Your Own Keys. Beginner, Fun, and free accounts do not include it. After you cancel, keys stay in use until the paid period ends, then they are paused.
- Organizations — included with every Enterprise plan. Organization admins manage keys from the organization's settings, in the Bring Your Own Keys tab. Every member uses those keys while working inside the organization.
Personal and organization keys are strictly separate. While an organization is selected in the org switcher, only that organization's keys are consulted; a member's personal keys are never used for organization work, and the reverse is also true.
Supported providers
The settings page lists exactly the providers that currently serve active models on LetzAI. At the time of writing these are:
- OpenAI — GPT text models for Chat and Canvas, GPT Image models for generation, editing and upscaling.
- Anthropic — Claude text models for Chat and Canvas.
- Google Gemini — Gemini text models in Chat and Canvas, and Nano Banana image models in Generate and Edit. Create a key in Google AI Studio. An InferenceSH key also runs those image models on your InferenceSH account.
- xAI — Grok text models and Grok Imagine image and video models.
- FAL.ai — the Flux family, Kling and WAN video.
- BytePlus — Seedream image models and Seedance video models.
- InferenceSH — the Gemini image models, Phota, WAN 2.7, Seedance, Pruna upscales and more. These run on your InferenceSH account, so your plan there must include them.
Under each provider, expand the models list to see every model that provider covers and which key it will use. Some models can be reached through more than one provider; the list tells you when a key saved under one provider re-routes a model that normally runs elsewhere.
Setting up a key
- Create an API key in the provider's own console.
- Open Settings → Bring Your Own Keys for your personal account, or your organization's Bring Your Own Keys tab.
- Paste the key into the provider's slot and press Save key.
- Confirm the provider now shows Active and the models list reads Uses your key.
From then on, the model pickers in Studio, Chat and Canvas show your masked key next to each affected model and the model price reads 0 credits. LetzAI still keeps 1 credit per job for storage.
How billing works
- Your provider pays for the model. Inference is billed to your provider account at their rates. LetzAI does not add a margin on that usage.
- 1 credit per job for storage. We keep 1 LetzAI credit when the result is stored on our servers. That is the only LetzAI charge on a job that ran on your key. An account with a zero balance cannot start a job even with a valid key: keep at least one credit available.
Managing keys
- Active switch — pause a key to go back to LetzAI credits for a while. The key stays saved and can be switched on again later.
- Replace — paste a new key into the same slot to rotate it. Saved keys are always shown masked.
- Delete — removes the key. Jobs on that provider go back to LetzAI credits immediately.
- Invalid or expired keys — if a provider rejects a key, the generation fails with a message linking back to the settings page. LetzAI never falls back to charging your credits silently.
- Cancel or downgrade — dropping below Pro, or letting a cancelled period run out, pauses every saved personal key. Generation goes back to LetzAI credits. The keys stay on the account so you can switch them on again after you resubscribe.
Notes for organizations
- Only organization admins can view or change organization keys.
- The tab is shown to organizations on an active Enterprise plan. If the organization is not on Enterprise, or that plan is cancelled, organization keys are paused and are no longer used.
- Members do not need their own provider accounts. As long as they work inside the organization, the organization's keys apply.
See Enterprise Plans for everything else that comes with an Enterprise organization.
